The DMT Universal Sharpening Base is the most versatile holder for DMT stones yet. It works with all DMT diamond stones, including the Whetstones, DuoSharp Stones, and Dia-Sharp Stones from 4" to 12" long. Fully adjustable this base will hold them all.
Rock Steady Sharpening
A good sharpening base should hold your stones rock steady. Nothing is more frustrating than a stone sliding around while you are trying to sharpen. The large, non-slip feet of the DMT Universal Base stay firmly put, allowing you to focus on sharpening, not chasing your stone around.
Raised Above the Work Surface
A good sharpening base should also raise your stone up off the work surface. Doing so allows you to comfortably hold knives at the correct angle during sharpening, without worrying about your hand hitting the table below. The DMT Universal Sharpening Base holds stones from 1 1/4" to 1 5/8" above the surface below, providing plenty of knuckle clearance.
Adapters Offer Multiple Clamping Options
The DMT Universal Sharpening Base includes jaw adapters that expand the capacity to accept 11 1/2" and 12" length stones. The adapters are custom shaped for a secure grip on 2.5" and 3" wide stones. The adapters also raise the stone to its highest position off the work surface, from about 1 1/4" without the adapters to about 1 5/8" with.
Single Locking Lever
A standout feature of the DMT Universal Sharpening Base is the locking lever. Adjustments to the base are quickly made with a single lever. Switching stones is fast and easy, there's no messing around with threaded rods. No matter how many different sizes of stones you have, you'll change between them quickly and easily.
