Our Honing Oil is recommended for use on natural Arkansas stones or synthetic oil stones such as aluminum oxide (India) and silicon carbide (Crystolon). Oil improves the sharpening process and reduces the likelihood that your stone will become clogged with swarf (metal particles). To use the oil, just apply to the surface of the stone before sharpening. Made in the USA.

Q. Can I use this oil on all of my oil stones?
A. Yes, this works great on any oil stone.
Q. Can I use this oil on a my water stones?
A. No, we don't recommend it for water stones. For those, just use plain old water.
