Naniwa Hibiki Stone

Naniwa Hibiki Stone

Vitrified Aluminum Oxide Stone

Naniwa's Hibiki water stones are made with a vitrified bond. These ceramic bonded water stones are on the harder side as water stones go and they hold their flatness well. They also are very responsive and give great feedback in use.

Naniwa Recommends for Wood Working Tools

Naniwa recommends the Hibiki water stones for use on wood working tools. The excellent feedback and harder wearing of these stones makes them ideal for sharpening wood working chisels and plane blades.

Soaking Stones

The Hibiki are soaking stones and need to be immersed in water for several minutes before you sharpen. 15-20 minutes before your sharpen, submerge the Hibiki stone in water. Bubbles will form as air displaces from the stones. When the bubbles stop, the stone is saturated and ready to go.

Available in 4 Grits

  • 1000 Grit - This stone is 210mm x 70mm x 20mm (about 8 1/4" x 2 3/4" x 3/4")
  • 3000 Grit - This stone is 206mm x 70mm x 20mm (about 8 1/8" x 2 3/4" x 3/4")
